A newly completed bridge in Gatundu South, Kenya, is expected to significantly improve market access for local farmers. The Mariguiti Bridge, spanning the Kirangi River in Kiganjo Ward, was commissioned after nearly two and a half years of construction, beginning in July 2024. Prior to the bridge, farmers faced difficulties transporting their agricultural products to market, hindering their profitability. The new infrastructure promises to reduce transportation costs and time, connecting farmers to wider markets. This development is anticipated to boost the local agricultural economy and improve livelihoods. The project’s completion marks a significant win for the region’s farming community, fostering economic growth.
