The liquefied natural gas (LNG) terminal in Eemshaven, Netherlands, began operations in September 2022 and has already processed 92 vessels carrying gas destined for the Czech Republic within four years. These shipments totaled 8.2 billion cubic meters of gas, which is equivalent to roughly 14 months of total gas consumption for the entire Czech Republic. Alternatively, this amount of gas could satisfy the needs of all Czech households for over four years. The Eemshaven terminal has become a crucial source of gas for the Czech Republic, enhancing its energy security. The terminal’s consistent operation demonstrates a reliable supply route. This delivery volume highlights the significant role Eemshaven plays in the energy infrastructure of the Czech Republic. Further expansion of such infrastructure may be considered to ensure long-term stability.
