The body of renowned Nepali climber Nirmal Purja has been recovered from a mountain in Pakistan, according to the expedition organizing agency. The recovery operation was described as “extremely difficult.” Purja went missing earlier this year while attempting to summit Manaslu in winter. Despite challenging conditions, authorities successfully retrieved his remains, allowing his family to arrange for his final journey home. Sadly, three other climbers remain missing from the same expedition. The recovery marks a somber closure to the search efforts for Purja, a celebrated figure in the mountaineering world. The agency has not yet provided details on ongoing searches for the missing climbers.
