Finnish authorities have concluded an investigation into five Nepalese citizens suspected of entering the country with fraudulent Latvian travel documents. The individuals allegedly traveled from Nepal, through Qatar, to Finland, intending to continue their journey to Sweden and further into Europe. Border Guard officials initiated the investigation based on suspicions regarding the authenticity of the travel documents used. The investigation was conducted by the Gulf of Finland Coast Guard’s crime investigation unit. The case highlights concerns about the use of forged documents for illegal border crossings. Authorities have not yet released details regarding potential charges or the individuals’ current legal status.
