NEO-CYCLE, a Baltic Sea region initiative focused on circular economy solutions, is actively working to increase female participation in the deep tech sector. The project recognizes a significant gender gap in technical fields despite women comprising over half of EU higher education graduates. NEO-CYCLE aims to address this imbalance through targeted programs and initiatives designed to support women’s careers in areas like biotechnology, artificial intelligence, and advanced materials. These efforts include mentorship opportunities, networking events, and funding specifically allocated for female-led startups. The project emphasizes that gender equality is not a one-time achievement but a continuous practice integrated into its core operations. By fostering a more inclusive environment, NEO-CYCLE hopes to unlock the full potential of the region’s innovation ecosystem and drive sustainable growth. The initiative’s commitment extends to challenging existing biases and promoting role models within the deep tech industry.
