The Finnish Defence Forces and Border Guard will conduct naval artillery firing exercises off the coast of Kotka from Monday to Friday this week. The exercises will take place in the Kirkonmaa and Ranki firing areas within the Gulf of Finland. The Suomenlahti Naval District exercises are scheduled between 8:00 AM and 6:00 PM on Monday and Wednesday. The Coastal Fleet will then practice in the same area on Thursday and Friday, extending the hours to 8:00 PM. Residents may hear loud noises due to the artillery firing. These drills are part of routine military training to maintain readiness and proficiency. The exercises aim to enhance the capabilities of both the Defence Forces and Border Guard.
