A national campaign aimed at preventing and detecting hypertension has launched in Zavkhan province, Mongolia, following a successful run in Arkhangai province where over 3,300 citizens received medical check-ups. The “Hypertension Prevention Campaign-2026” will offer comprehensive health services, including specialist examinations and health education, to residents of Zavkhan province from June 21-23. Representatives from Khaan Bank, the Zavkhan provincial government, and the National Center for Public Health emphasized the importance of collaboration in raising awareness and early detection of hypertension. Since 2017, the campaign, a joint effort between Khaan Bank, the P.N. Shatin Third State Central Hospital, the National Center for Public Health, and Mongolian National Public Radio and Television, has reached over 72,000 citizens across 21 Mongolian provinces. This marks the campaign’s second visit to Zavkhan province, having previously served over 5,000 residents in 2023. The initiative seeks to address hypertension, a leading cause of morbidity and mortality in Mongolia, through preventative measures and increased access to healthcare.
