The Romanian Government approved on Friday the necessary regulations for implementing the National Geological Program, a program established by law in 2018 but previously unable to launch. This program will facilitate the exploration of Romania's mineral resources, with a specific focus on critical raw materials. The initiative also encompasses the investigation of mineral waters and geothermal resources. Furthermore, the program aims to assess the potential recovery of resources from tailing ponds and sterile waste dumps within Romania. This marks a significant step towards utilizing Romania’s geological potential after a period of eight years since the initial legislation. The new rules will enable practical application of the program and its objectives.
