Two hundred farmers in Nakuru County, Kenya, have completed training in climate-smart agricultural practices. The program, encompassing farmers from all eleven sub-counties, focused on adapting to climate change and promoting sustainable land use. Key areas of instruction included conservation agriculture, techniques for improving soil health, and methods for conserving both soil and water resources. The initiative aims to bolster the region’s agricultural resilience in the face of increasingly unpredictable weather patterns. Organizers hope the newly acquired knowledge will lead to increased yields and improved livelihoods for the participating farmers. The training represents a proactive step towards securing food security within the county amidst growing environmental challenges. Further implementation and monitoring of these practices are expected to follow.
