The National Institute of Communications of Mozambique (INCM) has reported a growing number of individuals and companies illegally providing delivery services for correspondence and goods. The INCM attributes this increase to digitalization and the absence of a formal association for postal operators. Currently, 38 companies operate legally within Mozambique’s postal sector. The rise of these illegal operators poses a challenge to established businesses and regulatory oversight. The INCM is concerned by the lack of regulation surrounding digital delivery services. This situation impacts the formal postal market in Mozambique and creates unfair competition. Further action is expected to address this growing issue.
