The municipality of Manica, Mozambique, has invested approximately nine million meticais to pave a road connecting a key agricultural area in the Chinhamapere neighborhood to the National Road Number Six (EN6). This project aims to improve transportation of goods and people, and facilitate the flow of agricultural produce to market. The repairs were prompted by damage caused by recent heavy rains that impacted local roads, necessitating emergency intervention to maintain connectivity. A recently completed section of the paved road provides access to the historic Chinhamapere mountains. Residents express optimism that the improved road will ease mobility challenges, particularly during the rainy season. The new infrastructure directly links EN6 with a productive agricultural zone, enhancing transport and commerce. Municipal officials have indicated further investment is planned to extend the roadworks, while acknowledging ongoing challenges in rehabilitating the entire municipal road network. Future plans include replacing the current pavement with asphalt for increased durability.
