A 26-member youth football team, “Guerreiros do Futuro” (Warriors of the Future), will represent Mozambique at the International Youth Football Tournament in Braga, Portugal, from July 1st to 8th. The team comprises players from the Under-13 and Under-15 age groups, accompanied by their coaching staff. Before their departure, the delegation received encouragement from Mozambique’s Minister of Youth and Sports, Caifadine Manasse, who praised the academy’s role in youth development. The Minister emphasized the importance of the tournament as a platform to showcase Mozambican talent internationally and promote the nation’s sporting prowess. He highlighted the government’s ongoing commitment to supporting youth sports initiatives and fostering opportunities for young athletes. This participation is viewed as a crucial step in elevating Mozambican football development and providing valuable experience for the young players. The tournament aims to not only be a competitive event but also a chance to build international connections within the sporting community.
