A serious traffic accident occurred Sunday morning on highway I/20 near Třebouně, close to Toužim in the Karlovy Vary region. A motorcycle was struck head-on by a car traveling in the opposite direction. The motorcyclist sustained extremely serious injuries, potentially including the loss of a leg. Emergency medical services, including an air ambulance, responded to the scene. The extent of injuries to any occupants of the car is currently unknown. Authorities are investigating the cause of the incident and the circumstances that led to the car traveling the wrong way on the highway. Traffic was impacted while emergency crews worked at the scene.
