A new analysis reveals that five out of six *folkeskoler* (primary schools) in Denmark are not meeting the Ministry of Education’s standards for teacher competency. The findings, presented in a mapping project by Altinget, highlight significant concerns regarding the qualifications of educators across the country. The data allows citizens to view specific performance metrics for their local *kommune* (municipality) and individual *folkeskole*. This indicates a widespread issue within the Danish primary education system. The Ministry of Education set specific goals for subject matter expertise among teachers. This investigation demonstrates a substantial shortfall in meeting those targets nationally. Parents are now able to assess the qualifications of teachers at their child’s school using the newly published data.
