Morocco’s Constitutional Court has approved a new regulatory law (35.24) concerning the procedures for challenging the constitutionality of laws. The court ruled the law does not conflict with the constitution, clearing the way for its implementation. This decision follows previous rulings by the same court that deemed certain provisions of earlier versions of the law unconstitutional. The recent ruling specifically validates articles 7, 14, 19, 21, 22, and 26 of the law. This law establishes the framework for individuals and entities to formally question the constitutional validity of legislation passed by the Moroccan parliament. The approval signifies a step forward in strengthening the legal mechanisms for upholding constitutional principles within the country’s legal system.
