Morocco’s Minister of Youth, Culture and Communication, Mohamed Mehdi Bensaid, announced the first cohort of students in the Higher Institute of Information and Communication’s sports journalism master’s program will graduate this year. The program’s creation stems from an agreement between the ministry and the Royal Moroccan Football Federation. This initiative aims to address a noted lack of specialized journalists covering the sports sector in Morocco. Bensaid highlighted the importance of providing qualified professionals to enhance sports reporting within the country. The master’s program represents a focused effort to professionalize sports media. This development signifies a commitment to improving the quality and depth of sports coverage available to the Moroccan public. The program is expected to contribute to the growth and development of sports journalism in the region.
