Morocco’s National Railway Office (ONCF) is collaborating with South Korean railway companies to develop and implement its future regional express rail (RER) network, aiming to improve transportation in major cities by 2030. Hyundai Rotem will be responsible for the maintenance of the network for a period of twenty years. Simultaneously, KORAIL, the Korean national railway corporation, will oversee quality control during production and facilitate the transfer of technical expertise to Moroccan teams. This partnership signifies a significant investment in modernizing Morocco’s rail infrastructure. The collaboration aims to enhance efficiency and capacity within the country’s growing metropolitan areas. The project underscores Morocco’s commitment to expanding its rail network and leveraging international expertise to achieve its transportation goals. This initiative is expected to contribute to economic development and improved connectivity across the nation.
