A new grand stadium in Meknes, Morocco, will be constructed with a budget of approximately 600 million Moroccan Dirhams (MDH). The Royal Moroccan Football Federation will contribute 300 MDH and oversee the project in partnership with the Ministry of Sports and Local Authorities. This development is one of nine agreements approved on June 10, 2026, by the Regional Council. The stadium is being built in anticipation of hosting matches during the 2030 FIFA World Cup, for which Morocco is a candidate host nation. The project signifies a significant investment in Morocco’s sporting infrastructure. The Federation will be responsible for project management alongside the ministry. This initiative aims to enhance Morocco’s capacity to host major international sporting events.
