A recent scientific review highlights Morocco’s increasing investment in artificial intelligence research to combat the effects of drought, water scarcity, and rising temperatures. The research focuses on developing tools for risk prediction, resource monitoring, and improvements in irrigation and energy/heat management within cities. The study, available since September 1st in the journal “City and Environment Interactions” published by “Elsevier”, reviewed applications of AI related to these challenges. The findings demonstrate a growing commitment in Morocco to leverage technology for sustainable water resource management. These efforts aim to mitigate the impacts of water stress on the country's environment and urban areas. Ultimately, this expansion of AI research positions Morocco to proactively address the growing threat of water scarcity in the region.
