Morocco’s domestic tourism sector continues to thrive, recording over 4 million overnight stays by the end of May – a 2% increase. The Moroccan Ministry of Tourism is focusing on reducing seasonality and better distributing tourist flows throughout the country. Key areas of development include coastal tourism and nature-based experiences, alongside promoting gastronomy, festivals, local crafts, and alternative accommodations. This strategy aims to attract national travelers beyond peak seasons. The initiative seeks to solidify domestic travelers as a crucial support for the tourism industry. The ministry’s plan represents a concerted effort to broaden Morocco’s tourism offerings and ensure more sustainable growth.
