Morocco’s Ministry of Health and Social Protection has proactively increased its stock of antivenom and scorpion sting treatment kits in preparation for the summer months, a period typically marked by a rise in such incidents. Approximately 350 units of snake antivenom have been distributed to regional health directorates across the country. Hoda Sufiani, acting director of the Moroccan Center for Anti-Poisoning and Pharmacovigilance, confirmed the distribution was carried out based on regional needs. The initiative aims to ensure adequate treatment is readily available for individuals affected by scorpion stings and snakebites. This preventative measure seeks to mitigate the potential health risks associated with these venomous creatures during the warmer season. The supplies will allow for effective and timely care in affected regions.
