A joint Moroccan-Swiss research team has announced the discovery of a new, previously unknown fossil species dating back approximately 358 million years. The fossils, representing marine organisms, were unearthed in the Anti-Atlas region of eastern Morocco. This finding contributes significantly to the understanding of marine life during the late Devonian period. The research, published in the scientific journal *Acta Palaeontologica Polonica*, details the unique characteristics of these ancient creatures. The discovery reshapes current knowledge of the paleogeographic distribution of life in the region. This achievement adds to Morocco’s growing reputation for important contributions to geology and paleontology. Further study of the fossils is expected to reveal more about the ancient marine ecosystem.
