A new center, “Dar Al-Tarab Al-Garnati” (The House of Granada Music), has been established in Morocco to safeguard and promote the legacy of Andalusian music. The initiative was announced during a commemoration event marking the second anniversary of the death of Ahmed Biro, a prominent figure in Moroccan Andalusian music. The center is a partnership between the Academic Institute of Arts, affiliated with the Moroccan Royal Academy, and an association dedicated to preserving Biro’s artistic heritage and the unique Rabat style of Andalusian music. The launch aims to both conserve this cultural tradition and foster its continued development through education and artistic creation. The event featured performances of Granada music and highlighted the diversity of Morocco’s cultural heritage. Organizers emphasized the importance of preserving this unique art form for future generations.
