A member associated with the Mongols outlaw motorcycle gang escaped from custody at Royal Darwin Hospital in the Northern Territory. This is the second escape by a Mongols member in the NT this month, raising concerns about security protocols. Police apprehended the individual within eight minutes of the escape being reported. Authorities have not released the individual’s name, referring to him only as a “known associate” of the gang. The circumstances surrounding the escape are currently under investigation. This incident follows a previous escape earlier in the month involving another Mongols member, prompting scrutiny of security measures at the hospital and other detention facilities. No injuries were reported during the apprehension.
