Mongolia's money supply reached 53.4 trillion tögrög by the end of June 2026, a 26.6% increase from the same period last year, according to the National Statistics Office. The surge is attributed to increased exports, stated the Governor of the Bank of Mongolia, S. Narantsogt. Despite the nearly 27% rise in the M2 money supply, the central bank has not printed any new currency or injected funds into the market. Governor Narantsogt clarified that the increase is solely due to export-driven growth. Lending has decreased, but the central bank slightly increased reserve requirements to limit the money multiplier effect. The ratio of consumer to business loans has reached a reasonable level, indicating financial stability.
