Renowned Mongolian weightlifting coach Ts. Khosbayar has received a temporary suspension from MONADA, the national anti-doping organization. This follows a court ruling in May finding him guilty of selling unregistered and prohibited pharmaceuticals. Khosbayar was fined 5.4 million Mongolian Tugriks and 28 types of drugs were ordered for destruction. The Mongolian National Anti-Doping Agency initially uncovered the potential sale of prohibited substances listed on the World Anti-Doping Agency’s 2025 prohibited list, gathering evidence and witness testimonies. The case falls under violations of the National Anti-Doping Rules, specifically regarding possession and sale of prohibited substances. The suspension will remain in effect pending a separate ruling on sporting consequences, in accordance with government-approved anti-doping regulations.
