Over 357 Mongolian students have received scholarships from the Chinese government and the Inner Mongolia Autonomous Region for the 2026-2027 academic year. More than 5,000 students applied for these opportunities to study at top Chinese universities. The scholarships will support students pursuing doctoral, master's, and bachelor's degrees, with 25, 70+, and 260+ students respectively. Mongolia’s Minister of Education, L. Enkh-Amgalan, highlighted China’s rapid development through higher education and scientific advancement, noting seven Chinese universities rank within the world’s top 100, and 80 within the top 1,000. The minister encouraged students to leverage this opportunity for research, innovation, and patent development, and announced plans to expand collaborative educational programs between Mongolian and Chinese institutions. Over 10,788 Mongolian students have benefited from Chinese government scholarships over the past 40 years.
