Batbaatarin Khulan of Mongolia won the gold medal in the women’s +70kg category at the World Judo Championships held in Abu Dhabi, United Arab Emirates. The competition ran from May 1st to 9th. Khulan defeated Elena Jovanovic of Montenegro and Hayaa Aljhoori of the UAE in the preliminary rounds. She then secured the championship title by defeating Dana Gul Talgaqykzy of Kazakhstan in the final match. In addition to Khulan’s gold, Ganbaataryn Mongoljin earned a bronze medal in the women’s 52kg category, achieving a repeat performance after winning bronze at the 2024 World Championships in Greece. Mongoljin triumphed over a competitor from the UAE in the bronze medal contest, after competing against athletes from Russia, the Philippines and Kazakhstan.
