A unified conference of investigators commenced today in Mongolia’s State Palace, bringing together over 2,200 law enforcement officials. The conference aims to improve crime detection and resolution rates, address challenges in investigative work, and strengthen human rights within the legal system. Key figures including the President, Minister of Justice and Home Affairs, and heads of national agencies are participating both in person and remotely. The Minister of Justice and Home Affairs emphasized the need for systemic review of the judicial and law enforcement sectors, moving beyond individual assessments to address shortcomings collectively. He highlighted concerns about declining public trust due to political interference and a failure to uphold legal principles. The conference is part of the “Rule of Law-Citizen Trust Reform” initiative, which includes the establishment of a policy council for the judicial and law enforcement sectors, focused on enhancing efficiency and accountability.
