Mongolia has deported 465 foreign nationals from 33 countries in the first half of 2026 for various immigration violations. The deportations were prompted by overstaying visas, working without permits, and engaging in activities different from their stated purpose of entry. Authorities conducted 23 planned and 48 unplanned inspections, resulting in fines for 8,627 foreign citizens and compliance orders for 27 organizations. The majority of violations, 46.1%, were related to exceeding visa validity periods, followed by 41.3% for failing to obtain residency permits on time. Compared to the same period last year, the number of foreign nationals involved in violations increased by 25.1%, and violations by inviting organizations rose by 16.5%. However, there was a slight decrease in violations by individual sponsors and the number of deportations.
