The first phase of a green housing project in the Sharhad sub-center of Mongolia is nearing completion, with 110 apartments ready for handover to state commissions. These eco-friendly apartments are designed for low-to-middle income families and young couples, offering two or three-room options. The buildings incorporate smart management systems, aiming to reduce utility costs by 20% and have achieved EDGE green building certification – a first for Mongolia. Unique features include rooftop solar panels, water recycling systems, and individual heating controls. Construction is also underway on additional phases in both Sharhad and Bayankhoshuu sub-centers, with projects at varying stages of completion, ultimately aiming to provide 5,000 apartments across 60 hectares. Residents will also have access to rentable greenhouses for personal gardening. The project represents a significant investment in sustainable and affordable housing in the capital city.
