A judicial commission investigating the murder of Mir Raza Ali in Karachi has summoned several individuals connected to his business, Wafflix, to provide statements. Those called to testify include Ali’s business partner, Ahsan Anis Shamsi, the eatery’s manager Sherry, and accountant Muhammad Umair Khan, as well as Asad Ali Butt and Usman Buzai. Hassan Tanoli, currently residing in Australia, has also been issued a notice and will testify via electronic means. The move comes amid allegations of a cover-up by police and initial attempts to classify the death as a suicide. Ali’s body was discovered in Gulistan-i-Jauhar, Karachi, in July with a gunshot wound after being reported missing. A second autopsy was ordered following concerns raised by the initial post-mortem findings, with a medico-legal board formed by the Sindh health department to conduct the re-examination.
