Indonesia’s Defense Ministry has announced a review of its basic military training program following the deaths of five participants. The fatalities occurred during training for prospective managers of the Red and White Cooperative for Defense and Security Industries (Kopdes) and the National Maritime Security Management Center (KNMP). The training, known as Latsarmil, is part of the State Intelligence Agency’s (SPPI) development program. Details surrounding the deaths have not been released, but the Ministry confirmed an investigation is underway to assess safety protocols and training procedures. The evaluation aims to prevent similar incidents in future programs. Authorities have not yet disclosed the cause of the deaths or the specific nature of the training exercise when the incident occurred. The Ministry has pledged to release findings following the completion of the review.
