Lebanese security sources indicated the area houses an underground command center and weapons caches for Hezbollah. Israel claims to have achieved operational control of the Ali Taher ridge, both above and below ground, and reports discovering dozens of dead Hezbollah fighters within the tunnels. The explosion, utilizing 1100 tons of explosives, was felt throughout Southern Lebanon and even in Beirut, approximately 70 kilometers away, described by residents as feeling like a mild earthquake and registered by seismologists as a 4.1 magnitude event.
