Thai authorities, in collaboration with South Korea’s National Intelligence Service, have seized over 50 tonnes of chemical precursors used in methamphetamine production in a major anti-drug operation. Raids were conducted across multiple locations including Bangkok, Samut Prakan, Rayong, and Nonthaburi province. The seized materials are estimated to have a street value of $5.6 billion, potentially representing a record-breaking bust. This operation targeted the supply chain for methamphetamine, aiming to dismantle a significant drug network. Thai officials indicate the precursors were intended for the illicit manufacture of the drug. The joint effort highlights increased international cooperation in combating drug trafficking within the region. Further investigations are underway to identify and apprehend those involved in the operation.
