Conservation efforts in the Lý Sơn Marine Protected Area in Quảng Ngãi province have resulted in the removal of nearly 6 kilograms of waste from coral reef ecosystems. The collected debris aims to safeguard the habitat of marine life and the health of the coral reefs. Monitoring of the reef systems revealed the presence of significant amounts of trash, prompting the cleanup initiative. This action underscores the ongoing need to address marine pollution and protect vulnerable coastal environments. The removal of waste contributes to the preservation of Lý Sơn’s biodiversity and the ecological integrity of its underwater ecosystems. Authorities emphasize the importance of continued monitoring and cleanup operations to maintain the health of this vital marine area. The initiative highlights a commitment to preserving “Lý Sơn’s green lung,” a local reference to the importance of the reefs.
