Malaysian General Operations Force (GOF) officers have seized 8,800 pieces of batik cloth, valued at RM1.76 million (approximately $375,000 USD), in Tumpat, Kelantan. The seizure occurred following surveillance of an illegal jetty using drone technology. Authorities observed suspicious activity prompting the raid and subsequent confiscation of the batik. The operation was led by Southeast Brigade GOF commander Ahmad Radzi Hussain. The batik was reportedly intended for illegal export, though further details regarding the destination and intended recipients have not yet been released. Investigations are ongoing to identify those involved in the smuggling operation and determine the full extent of the illicit trade. This represents a significant disruption to the illegal batik market in the region.
