A Malaysian animal welfare advocate has embarked on a 290km solo run from Taiping to Parliament to raise awareness and campaign for the return of three Malaysian elephants. Neow Choo Seong began the six-day journey on Saturday, aiming to pressure the government to bring Dara, Amoi, and Kelat back from Tennoji Zoo in Japan. The elephants were sent to Japan in the past, and Neow believes they should be returned to their natural habitat in Malaysia. This long-distance run is a direct appeal to lawmakers to intervene and facilitate the repatriation process. Neow hopes the highly visible effort will garner public support and government action. The activist intends to arrive at Parliament after completing the arduous run, presenting his case directly to officials.
