The Malaysian government announced a significant increase in annual funding for Neighbourhood Watch Areas (KRT) across the country. Starting January 1, 2027, each KRT will receive an annual grant of RM10,000, a rise from the previous RM6,000. The increase aims to bolster community-level security initiatives nationwide. Prime Minister Anwar Ibrahim revealed the decision during an event in Segamat. This funding boost is intended to empower local communities to enhance their safety and vigilance. The government views KRTs as vital partners in maintaining public order and preventing crime. The increased allocation reflects a commitment to strengthening grassroots security networks throughout Malaysia.
