Ho Chi Minh City police have dismantled a large-scale interprovincial cat theft and trafficking ring. The operation resulted in the rescue of hundreds of live cats. Investigators discovered the ring was collecting approximately 50 kilograms of stolen cats daily. The perpetrators were reportedly earning substantial profits – hundreds of millions of Vietnamese Dong – within just a few months of operation. The case was handled by the city’s Criminal Police Department. Authorities are continuing to investigate the full extent of the network and identify all individuals involved in the illegal activity. This bust highlights the growing issue of pet theft in the region.
