Grupo GR, a machinery specialist company, is diversifying into the agricultural sector with an $8 million investment in non-genetically modified (non-GMO) soybean seed production. The company aims to become a leading seed supplier within the country. Grupo GR intends to supply seeds for 15,000 hectares of soybean crops in the upcoming planting season, directly supporting local producers. Currently, the company is constructing its own seed plant and storage facilities. Both construction projects are scheduled for completion before November of this year. This move signifies a strategic expansion for Grupo GR, leveraging its existing expertise to enter a new segment of the agricultural supply chain. The investment reflects growing demand for non-GMO soybean options among farmers.
