Machakos County’s County Aggregation and Industrial Park (CAIPS) is nearing completion, currently 76.5% finished, promising significant benefits for local farmers. The facility aims to tackle persistent post-harvest losses, a major issue for agricultural producers in the region. CAIPS will provide modern cold storage solutions, allowing farmers to preserve their produce and reach wider markets. Structured market spaces will also be incorporated, facilitating trade and reducing exploitation. Furthermore, the park will focus on improved value addition processes, enabling farmers to increase their income through processed goods. This development is predicted to boost agro-industrial growth within Machakos County and enhance food security. The project addresses long-standing challenges and anticipates a positive economic impact for the region's agricultural sector.
