During a recent incident involving a Russian Kh-101 missile landing in Tarnawa-Kolonia, Poland, alarm sirens failed to activate in ten out of seventeen districts within the Lublin Voivodeship. Investigations by Wirtualna Polska revealed a series of errors contributing to the failure. These included one on-duty operator failing to reach the radio station in time, another missing an SMS alert and oversleeping, and a third awaiting confirmation from superiors before initiating the alarm. In the Biłgoraj district, the activation order arrived after the missile had already exploded. This lapse in protocol raises questions about the efficiency of the region's emergency response system and preparedness for potential further incidents. Authorities are now reviewing procedures to prevent similar occurrences in the future and ensure timely warnings to the public.
