A powerful lightning strike injured six people – one adult male and five children – at a summer camp near Číměř in the Jindřichohradecký District of the Czech Republic on Tuesday evening. The strike followed an initial hit on a nearby utility pole during a severe thunderstorm, prompting campers to seek shelter in the dining hall. Despite being indoors, the force of the subsequent strike, which hit a nearby tree, travelled into the building. Witnesses reported seeing a bright flash associated with the lightning's path. The injured individuals were affected by the electrical current entering the dining hall. Further details about the extent of their injuries have not yet been released, but emergency services responded to the scene.
