A large fire completely destroyed a swingers club in Lelystad, Netherlands, early this morning. The building, recently purchased by the municipality for nearly 4 million euros, is considered a total loss. The fire originated in an outbuilding and quickly spread to the main structure around 5:45 AM. Fortunately, no injuries have been reported. Firefighters responded with a significant presence, but focused on preventing the blaze from spreading to a neighboring building rather than attempting to extinguish it, as the structure was deemed unsalvageable. The municipality had acquired the property with plans to demolish it, citing concerns about its proximity to a planned residential development and potential legal challenges. The presence of gas bottles in the building caused several explosions during the fire.
