Latvia’s Road Traffic Safety Directorate (CSDD) is launching a new public safety campaign focused on seatbelt use. On Tuesday, August 18th, at 11:00 AM, a warning signal simulating the sound of an unfastened seatbelt will be broadcast nationally via radio and at petrol stations. The campaign, titled “The last dance begins without a seatbelt. Don’t take chances – buckle up!”, aims to raise awareness about the critical importance of wearing seatbelts. CSDD officials hope the unexpected sound will serve as a stark reminder for drivers and passengers. The initiative intends to reduce serious injuries and fatalities resulting from road traffic accidents. This is a direct effort to improve road safety across the country and encourage responsible driving habits.
