Heavy rainfall caused a landslide in the Jand area of Attock, Pakistan, halting train services on the Attock–Mari Indus–Multan railway section. The landslide, occurring between Jhamat and Chhab railway stations, deposited mud and debris onto the tracks, forcing a temporary suspension of operations. Two trains, including the 202-Up passenger train, were directly affected, leaving hundreds of passengers stranded for hours. Passengers voiced concerns regarding a lack of basic necessities like drinking water and insufficient communication regarding the duration of the delay. Railway officials dispatched emergency maintenance teams to clear the debris and restore rail traffic. The incident highlights the need for improved emergency response protocols and passenger support during unforeseen disruptions to the railway network.
