Laikipia County authorities have escalated efforts to combat the production and distribution of illegal alcohol. A recent operation in Shamanek village, Nyahururu Sub-County, resulted in the destruction of 2,600 liters of Kangara and the seizure of 160 liters of Chang’aa. The crackdown is being conducted by a multi-agency team throughout the county. Laikipia County Commander Peter Nduriri affirmed the government’s commitment to continuing these operations. These actions aim to curb the harmful effects of illicit brews on public health and safety. Authorities indicate they will maintain pressure on those involved in the illegal alcohol trade.
