The National Orthopaedic Hospital, Igbobi (NOHIL) in Lagos has launched a program to address foot and ankle deformities, collaborating with Steps2Walk and the Global Health Charity and Training Foundation (GHCTF). The initiative combines a specialized surgical training program for medical professionals with a free medical outreach for patients. Approximately 400 patients are expected to receive free medical care as part of the outreach. The program aims to improve access to quality orthopaedic care in Nigeria and reduce the impact of untreated foot and ankle conditions. This training will upskill specialists to handle complex cases. Ultimately, the partnership hopes to create a sustainable increase in skilled orthopaedic professionals and improve patient outcomes. The project demonstrates a commitment to expanding healthcare accessibility within the region.
