Kyrgyzstan has concluded its chairmanship of the Shanghai Cooperation Organisation (SCO) and officially passed the role to Pakistan. The announcement was made following the conclusion of the SCO Heads of State Council meeting held in Bishkek. This transfer marks the end of Kyrgyzstan’s period leading the organization, which focuses on regional security and cooperation. The summit brought together leaders from member states to discuss key issues and chart the SCO’s future course. Pakistan now assumes responsibility for guiding the SCO's agenda and initiatives. The change in leadership is a routine part of the SCO’s rotational chairmanship system, ensuring broad representation among its members. This transition is expected to foster continued collaboration on economic, political, and security matters within the region.
